Self-Care Stationery Haul | Hubman & Chubgirl Unboxing πŸ“¦

Confession time: I used the β€œSelf-care Month” theme as an excuse to order… self-care stickers! πŸ˜†πŸ’– And they literally just arrived, so enough talking this week β€” more sparkling! ✨ (Well, they don’t actually sparkle… except maybe the washi tapes.)

✨ Why I Shopped

Sometimes, when I feel sad, stressed, or overwhelmed, I have a reflex: reach for a bag of chips… or visit a stationery shop. (Neither is ideal, I know: one is bad for my health, the other is bad for my wallet… πŸ˜…)

If you’ve ever cured a bad mood by clicking β€œadd to cart,” you’re definitely not alone. (I actually dive a little deeper into this in my latest newsletter β€” you can subscribe here so you don’t miss the next one! πŸ’Œ)

Two weeks ago, I was feeling a little down while checking my emails… and there it was: an update from Hubman & Chubgirl.

They were relaunching an old collection with new items β€” but even better were the sales! Every week, they discount a few themed collections for 7 days only β€” and that week, it was the Self-Care Bear collection. Needless to say… I splurged 😍

I couldn’t wait to tear open the packages and see all the cute designs in person… and now it’s time for the fun part! πŸ₯³

πŸ›οΈ What I Bought

The Packaging πŸ“¦

A closed shipping box with lots of cute designs on it and the words "Happy Mail is here", along with an opaque drawstring shipping bag containing a bigger item.

Because I bought a larger item (more on that in a minute πŸ‘€), my order arrived in a plain brown shipping box.

BUT.

Everything inside had been packed with so much care by the team. πŸ’–

The larger item was wrapped in its own protective bag and laid flat at the bottom of the box so it wouldn’t bend out of shape, and the smaller items were tucked neatly into one of H&C’s happy mail boxes instead of being tossed loosely into the big brown one.

Nothing rattling. Nothing squished. Just thoughtful packing all around. ✨

The Self-Care Bear Collection 🧸

I grew up watching the Care Bears, so of course I adore H&C’s Self-Care Bear collection. The designs are ridiculously cute, and the wordplay makes me chuckle every single time. πŸ’•

Nine sticker sheets featuring cute bears practicing self-care such as meditating, exercising, and reading.

The quality is fantastic, as usual. The stickers are printed on creamy, vinyl-like paper with crisp colors and sharp details. Everything feels sturdy and smooth, and the designs? Absolutely adorable. ✨

The collection is actually bigger than what I’m showing here. I only picked the items that really fit my life and current situation. But if you’re curious about the rest of the collection, you can check it out right here!

The Other Stuff πŸ›’

Of course, I bought more than just the self-care stickers. That’s the thing about β€œself-care shopping” β€” it suddenly includes every single item that makes you go, β€œOooh! I need this!” πŸ˜†πŸ’–

So here are the other things I absolutely, definitely β€œneeded.”

The Sweets Town Collection 🍬

I have a serious sweet tooth, and gummy bears are my favorite treat. So obviously, I could not pass up the Sweets Town collection. 🍭

I had already received a few items through my subscription, but I needed more stickers… and the washi tapes were calling my name. Loudly. πŸ˜†

Just like the Self-Care Bear collection, everything is amazing quality. But I have to say, I’m especially obsessed with H&C’s washi tapes because they come as a mini bundle of two different but matching rolls, which makes coordinating a spread ridiculously easy.

  • A flatlay of sticker sheets and washi tapes featuring a cute and colorful designs inspired by candies such as gummy bears and lollipop trees.
  • Five sticker sheets displaying an array of cute and colorful candy designs ranging from gummy bears to lollipops to cupcake houses.
  • A stack of cute and colorful candy sticker sheets with a single prominent sheet featuring an array of functional and decorative stickers made for the Hobonichi Weeks planner.
  • Two rolls of washi tapes still wrapped but showing their designs of cute and colorful candies on the labels stuck to them.
  • Two rolls of cute washi tapes unfurled to display the candies and gummy bears designs.
The Arctic Winter Collection ❄️

I grabbed a few sticker sheets from the Arctic Winter collection because they’re ridiculously cute… and because I live in Canada.

So even though spring might technically be around the corner, let’s be honest β€” winter is still very much a main character over here. And these stickers are 100% seasonally appropriate. ❄️

Three sticker sheets featuring cute arctic animals such as polar bears, penguins and walruses.
The Cozy Bookworm Journal Buddy πŸ‘œ

The Cozy Bookworm collection was released last year (if my memory isn’t playing tricks on me), but the bag is a very recent addition (like two weeks ago)… and I just HAD to get it.

I love reading.
I love journaling.
It was basically destiny. πŸ˜ŒπŸ’–

  • The front of a bag with mint green accents and a large front pocket with a design of cute worms reading books on a green background and closed by beige leather straps.
  • Open pocket in front of a bag. The pocket has a design of cute worms reading books on a green background, and protruding from the pocket is a thick cellphone case.
  • The back of a back with a simple green pocket on a beige background with the words "Hubman & Chubgirl" stitched on it.
  • The inside of a bag featuring an array of pockets, and a design of cute worms reading books on a green background.

The Cozy Bookworm Journal Buddy bag is gorgeous and surprisingly roomy! It has one large main compartment inside, with no divider, which I actually love because I can organize it however I want. There are small interior pockets to slide in pens, a large zipped pocket so smaller items don’t disappear into the abyss, and a bottle-holder pocket with elastic at the top to keep it in place. Plus, the bag closes with a zipper, so everything feels nice and secure. ✨

On the outside, there’s an open pocket at the back for quick-grab items. The front pocket, which closes with magnetic snap buttons (the straps are just decorative), is bigger than I expected and perfect for sticker sheets, washi tapes, or even my wallet.

Little downside? I wish the bag were made of waterproof material, since most of what we carry in a journal bag is paper and pens. And I also wish it were pink instead of green. Because pink is objectively the best color of all. πŸ’•

🎁 BONUS: Freebie Set

Shopping at H&C can sometimes feel like giving yourself a gift because of their β€œfreebie sets.” If your order total (before taxes and shipping) reaches a certain amount, you qualify for a freebie bundle.

This time, thanks to the bag, I reached the threshold very easily… and I received the I Love You freebie set! πŸ’–

It included:

  • 1 A5 binder
  • 8 heart-shaped paperclips
  • 12 “Love words” washi flakes
Three cute items (a binder, clips, and washi tape flakes) from a cute red and pink design inspired by love.

The items in the set are exclusive and cannot be purchased separately, but if you like the I Love You collection‘s design, there are stickers available! πŸ›’

πŸ’ Final Thoughts

So were these buys necessary? Probably not.
But did they make me smile? Absolutely. πŸ’•

And maybe that’s the whole point of self-care stationery. It doesn’t solve problems β€” it just adds a little brightness to our days.

I can’t wait to start using these new additions in my journal and planner β€” expect to see them pop up in future spreads! ✨

With this happy little haul, I think that officially wraps up our Self-Care Month. πŸ’– Thank you for following along, reflecting with me, and now unboxing with me.

If you’ve enjoyed this theme, I share a few extra thoughts (and behind-the-scenes rambles) in my monthly newsletter as well. πŸ’Œ You can subscribe if you’d like to keep the conversation going.
