This year, I went on the hunt for the ultimate gel pen… and ended up with four different packs to test. 📦📦📦📦

It promises to be an exciting night! ✨ Our contestants have arrived dressed in their finest attire: sleek barrels, bright inks, and just a touch of sparkle.
The desk mask is rolled out. The paper is poised. The audience is holding its breath…
And now, it’s time to reveal tonight’s nominees.

As this was one of their most prominent features, I had high hopes for Writech—and while the ink didn’t dry quite as instantly as promised in the promo, it still outpaced all other nominees.⚡
✍️ Left-handers, rejoice: this pen dries quickly enough to keep your notes (almost) pristine.
If drying time isn’t a top priority for you, feel free to skip this category—but the backstage drama was undeniable.
🔥Best Performance Under Pressure🔥
(aka The Highlighter Test)
🏆 And the award goes to: Noteful Erasable Gel Pens!
When the 🖍️ highlighter swept across the page, the Noteful gel pens held their ground beautifully. Despite a slightly slower drying time earlier in the competition, they left the highlighting color crisp and untarnished. ✨
Who knew the winners of the Quick Dry Test and the Highlighter Test would be two different sets of gel pens? Plot twist! 😲🌀
Not every pen enjoys being pushed to center stage by a highlighter.
👻Best Ghostwriting👻
(aka The Ghosting Test)
🏆 And the award goes to: Noteful Erasable Gel Pens!
Perhaps it’s because their erasable ink doesn’t produce quite as deep a black as its competitors, but the Noteful Erasable Gel Pens are barely more than a whisper once the page is turned. Just an echo in the wind. 🌬️
It’s worth noting that the paper used for this test is fairly thin. On thicker paper, all of our nominees would likely perform much better in this category.

(aka Smoothest Writing)
🏆 And the award goes to: Writech Nebula!
⚔️ The competition was fierce in this category, but the Writech Nebula snatches the prize by a slight margin. The ink glides effortlessly across the page in a crisp shade of black, leaving clean, sharp edges behind. ✍️
All pens performed very well in this category, and the margin between them was small. In the end, the downsides mostly depend on how you plan to use them.
🎭Most Unexpected Performance🎭
🏆 And the award goes to: Pen & Gear Retractable Gel Pens!
With a much smaller budget than the rest of the competition 💰—while still bringing a full cast of eight pens—the Pen & Gear Retractable Gel Pens delivered a far stronger performance than expected. 🌟 Sometimes the biggest surprises come from the most unexpected places.
Notable mention to the Writech Nebula Gel Pens, which revealed a rather amusing hidden talent 🤫… they’re almost completely silent! Their clicker produces little to no sound at all, a detail that earned a good chuckle from the judges. 😄 But if you’re someone who enjoys clicking your pen just for the sound of it, you might want to skip the Writech Nebula.

🏆 The pen I kept reaching for the most was: Writech Nebula!
With its strong smudge resistance, decent highlighting performance, clean and crisp black ink, and a design that truly stands out, it’s easy to see how the Writech Nebula takes home the top prize in today’s competition. 🌟
These are the pens I’ll likely keep within reach everywhere I might need them—on my desk at home 🏠, at the office 🖇️, and even tucked inside my purse 👜.
That said, every one of today’s nominees delivered a strong performance 💪, and I’m certain each set will find its place somewhere in my home.

💭 Final Thoughts
Every award show has its winners, but on my desk, every nominee earned a place in the pencil case. 🖊️
