Scriven 2026: A Very Serious Study in Pens, Stickers, and Poor Self-Control ๐Ÿ˜…

A couple of weekends ago, I attended Scriven 2026 โ€” a convention dedicated mostly to fountain pens and ink, but which has broadened its spectrum in the past few years to include stationery like notebooks, pencil cases, and yesโ€ฆ stickers! โœ’๏ธ๐Ÿ““

As someone who loves collecting and using stationery, this was an event I had been looking forward to since attending last yearโ€™s edition. Walking into the convention hall felt a little like stepping into a treasure cave filled with loot so beautiful it would impress even the most picky pirate (if they had taste, of course ๐Ÿ˜„).

So come with me, and letโ€™s take a look at Scriven 2026โ€ฆ and the loot I brought home!

๐Ÿ‘€ First Impressions

A church's brown interior and lots of people crowding show tables displaying fountain pens.

One of the things that struck me immediately was the atmosphere. Everywhere I looked, people were chatting about notebooks, comparing favourite supplies, and browsing vendor tables filled with unique products.

It was exciting to see so many small businesses and artists gathered in one place. Online shopping is incredibly convenient, but thereโ€™s something special about seeing products in person and talking directly with the people who create them. ๐Ÿ’ฌ

There truly is something for every taste and every budget at Scriven.

While sticker sheets and similar products remain within the price range weโ€™re accustomed to seeing from indie vendors, fountain pens ranged from around $20 to $400. There is no judgment, and no one is left out at Scriven โ€” whether youโ€™re just starting your stationery journey or deep into it already. ๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿ“The Venue

Just like last year, Scriven was hosted at the Centre St-Jax on Ste. Catherine West in the heart of Montreal โ€” but this year, it moved from the smaller convention hall into the larger space, inside the church itself.

A church's imposing figure on a cloudless blue sky and surrounded by green foliage.

Thereโ€™s something undeniably enveloping about walking into a church. Perhaps itโ€™s the wooden-paneled walls, the soft, dim lighting, or the impossibly high ceilings that inspire awe. Thereโ€™s always an air of quiet reverence in spaces like this.

Wellโ€ฆ during Scriven, that respectful silence was replaced by the excited buzzing of hundreds of stationery enthusiasts moving from table to table, meeting artists and creators, and carefully selecting the next object of their affection. ๐Ÿคฉ

๐Ÿ›๏ธ Favorite Vendors and Finds

Of course, I couldnโ€™t leave empty-handed. There were last yearโ€™s favourite vendors that I was happy to see again (and who even recognized me as โ€œMiss Stickersโ€ ๐Ÿ˜„), as well as new discoveries I was excited to add to my favourites list.

Here are the stops I made โ€” and the goodies I decided to bring home.

Scriven ๐Ÿ“Œ

Scriven is always my first stop, since thatโ€™s where you can get the lay of the land (aka grab a map ๐Ÿ“). Thereโ€™s also a new ink released every year in honour of the convention, so I had to pick it up once again.

A pamphlet named "Scrivener", a sticker with the Scriven logo, and a bottle of burgundy ink,

Circumflux Stationery ๐Ÿฆ€
Two colorful pen-holder crabs, three fun button-punch stamps, a cute purple frog stamp, and a purple storage box.

I met these folks last year at Scriven 2025, so I was really happy to see them return in this yearโ€™s vendor list. After the Scriven table, they were my very first stop โ€” and Iโ€™m sure you can guess why ๐Ÿ˜„

I picked up two pen-holder crabs, a small metal toolbox, an adorable froggy stamp to add to my collection, and three six-button stamps that I am officially obsessed with. ๐Ÿธโœจ

Stack3d ๐ŸฆŒ

Next, we stopped by Stack3d, a Toronto-based 3D printing company. My husband picked out some cute stickers for me, along with the most adorable moose pen holder ๐ŸซŽ๐Ÿ’›

I meanโ€ฆ how cute is that? (And they gave me the mini-moose for free because I couldn’t stop giggling at it.)

  • A moose pen-holder, a mini-moose, and colorful vinyl stickers of animals holding fountain pens.
  • A cute moose pen-holder holding a fountain pen on his antlers.

Lea Matte Illustration and AM Paper & Art Co. ๐Ÿฑ๐ŸŒ™

Next came two incredible artist discoveries: Lea Matte (Lea Matte Illustration) and Adana (AM Paper & Art Co., now Fox & Fable Studio).

A variety of vinyl stickers, washi tapes and notepads with a vintage, witchy-brown feel.

At AM Paper & Art Co., the witchy, vintage-inspired vibes are front and centre.

I fully indulged my darker side (the one that reads mysteries and writes ghost stories ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ•ฏ๏ธ) and brought home beautiful stickers and washi tapes that are going straight into my reading journal.

At Lea Matte Illustrationโ€™s table, I completely fell in love with the adorable โ€” and sometimes mischievous โ€” cats.

Her style is stunning (especially her art prints!), and I still giggle every time I look at the tote bag I bought: a jittery little cat under the phrase โ€œStill better than AI art.โ€ ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿฑ

A variety of stunning art prints featuring well-known characters. Also, sticker sheets and a tote bag all featuring cats.

Fountain PENdulum โœ’๏ธ

Our final stop was the Fountain PENdulum table (I was actually looking for the Toronto Pen Shoppeโ€ฆ which turned out to be nowhere near where I was ๐Ÿ˜‚).

There, I picked up a few items Iโ€™d been eyeing for a while: Wearingul โ€œSmile Catโ€ ink swatch cards and a Ferris Wheel Press ink bottle (a glittery one, of course).

I also grabbed a glass ink swatching spoonโ€ฆ which Iโ€™ll admit I have absolutely no idea how to use yet, but Iโ€™m willing to learn. Plus, itโ€™s pretty โ€” and thatโ€™s reason enough. ๐Ÿฅ„

A variety of stationery items including ink swatch cards and a beautiful ink box from Ferriswheel Press.

โœจInspiration for My Own Projects

One of my favourite parts of attending events like Scriven is the inspiration they spark.

Seeing so many artists and shop owners sharing their work, and experiencing that sense of warmth and community, reminded me why I enjoy stationery so much in the first place.

I came home with new ideas, renewed motivation, and plenty of excitement for my own creative projects. ๐ŸŽจ

In fact, shortly after the convention, I finished creating my first sticker sheets using my own artwork (stay tuned for more details in my next post!). It felt like a fitting follow-up to a weekend spent surrounded by so many talented creators.

๐Ÿ’ญFinal Thoughts

Overall, I had a wonderful time at Scriven 2026.

Whether youโ€™re a planner enthusiast, sticker collector, journal lover, or simply someone who enjoys beautiful stationery, events like this are a fantastic opportunity to discover new shops, meet fellow enthusiasts, and find inspiration.

See you at Scriven 2027? ๐Ÿ‘€
