Unboxing My 1st Hubman & Chubgirl Order (Part 1)

Eeek! My very first order from Hubman & Chubgirl just arrived, and I couldn’t be more excited! This package is bursting with adorable, colorful goodies. Let’s dive right in and unbox this stationery haul together—prepare for cuteness overload!

Introduction

I’ll admit it—I only discovered Hubman & Chubgirl a couple of months ago, which feels impossible given their 85k followers on Instagram! Rebecca Tsang’s (aka “Chubgirl”) artist account even boasts more than half a million followers!

But now that I’ve found this delightful little gem, my wallet is definitely feeling the pinch (it’s okay – we weren’t on speaking terms anyway). I just had to place my first order because…you know. Tons of glowing reviews weren’t enough: I had to see for myself if H&C were any good! 😆

Now that my order has arrived, let’s unpack it together!
(P.S.: This will be a two-part post because I went a little overboard—stay tuned for the second part featuring the Cozy Cat box set.)

A shipping brown box with three colorful, smaller boxes in it. Two of the boxes are covered in kawaii shipping icons while the third one features a cat sitting on a book and looking outside.

My First Impression

Two boxes covered in kawaii shipping icons with the text "ChubHUBmail – Happy Mail Is Here – from Toronto with love."

“Happy Mail Is Here” indeed! I couldn’t help but squeal as I opened the brown box, revealing smaller, cheerier packages tucked inside.

I just knew happiness was waiting for me—and I was absolutely right! Even the insides of the boxes were so beautifully designed, I just had to keep them as storage boxes. Now I smile every time I look at them.

Let’s see what those boxes contained, shall we?

Order Content

A colorful array of products from Hubman & Chubgirl: washi tape rolls, die-cut vinyls, pockets and sticker sheets and a reusable sticker album. The text on the picture reads "Awesome pockets" with arrows pointing to the pockets, and "Super cute reusable sticker album" with an arrow pointing to the album.

The first thing that won me over was the gorgeous pockets my stickers arrived in—absolutely free! They’re made of thick cardboard of excellent quality, and even though I’ve designated a spot in an album for the sticker sheets they contained, I’m definitely keeping these pockets for future use!

First, I snagged the Tropical Fun sticker album ($9)* at a fantastic price during Hubman & Chubgirl’s recent warehouse sale. Who could resist a flamingo in sunglasses wearing a pool floatie? It’s too adorable to pass up! (Note: the album is currently sold out.)

A close-up of the Turtles & Treasure sticker sheet and the Under The Sea washi tape set of two rolls. The text on the picture reads "Sticker sheet" with an arrow pointing to the sheet, "Washi tape set" with two arrows pointing to the washi tape rolls, and "Glitter tape!" with an arrow pointing to one of the rolls of tape.

Following that, I added the Under The Sea washi tape set ($9)* and the Turtles & Treasure sticker sheet ($5)* to my cart, both from the Under The Sea collection, and I’m so glad I did! I mean, cute little turtles and glittery washi tape? Does it get any better than this?

A flatlay of items from the Strawberry Harvest and Summer Watermelon collections. The picture shows a washi tape set, five die-cut vinyl stickers, and an array of sticker sheets.

Adding to the fun, and because I can never resist summer vibes and adorable cows with fruit, I treated myself to a small sample of H&C’s Strawberry Harvest and Summer Watermelons collections. Aren’t they just the cutest?

Pictured above:

Next up are a journal and binder, both top-notch in quality and such a steal during the warehouse sale that it felt like I was getting away with something! 😅

Two pictures side-by-side. One showing the wedding-inspired cover design of the journal, and the second picture showing the first page of the journal with a page-lift to show the dot grid interior design.

First up, the journal! I love that it was designed specifically with weddings in mind. The dot grid pages make it super versatile and way less intimidating than blank ones (at least for me!). Plus, the pen loop and back pocket allow me to have everything with me on the go, so I can jot down ideas and plan our big day no matter where I am! 👰
(Note: the wedding journal is unfortunately no longer available.)

Three pictures displaying the travel-themed cover design and interior of a 6-ring binder. The text reads "Best travel binder!" with a heart-shaped eyes emoji.

I’m in total awe of this binder! 🤩 As a fan of A5 6-ring binders, the quality of this one blew me away. The travel-themed design and crisp colors are just adorable, and the vegan leather cover with a button closure feels so luxurious. Inside, there’s a handy pen loop and eight pockets perfect for storing cards, bills, pamphlets, sticker sheets—everything I need. I hardly even have to carry a wallet when traveling anymore!
A5 Ring Planner – Travel Theme ($30)*

A flatlay of four various sticker sheets from the Happy Dinos collection.

There is one word for H&C’s Happy Dinos theme collection: cuuuuute! (Yes, with all the u’s.) While I’m not as big of a dinosaur fan as I used to be, just one glance at these adorable little guys made my heart melt. So naturally, I had to snag a few sheets:

(and I foresee more Happy Dinos items in future orders!)

A flatlay of an array of sticker sheet and planner stickers sheet pulled from various collections.

Finally, I treated myself to random sticker sheets just to explore more of H&C’s collections! (If you wonder what’s the difference between a “sticker sheet” and a “planner stickers sheet”, here it is: the main differences are the price and the size. A ‘sticker sheet’ is larger, features bigger stickers, and usually has a colorful background. They also showcase a wider selection pulled from the collection, while planner sticker sheets typically include multiple copies of 3-4 designs from the same collection.)

And now, to wrap up this post on the happiest note: freebies!

A picture titled "Freebies!" with three turtle-inspired items and the text reads "6-ring binder", "Foldable reusable bag" and "Shaker charm" with arrows pointing to the items.

Hubman & Chubgirl usually offer a freebie set that you can add to your cart. This set is free when your cart total reaches a certain amount. If your total is below that, you can still buy the set if you wish to own it.

(Important heads up: if you’re aiming for the freebie, you’ll need to manually add the set to your cart; it won’t be added automatically when you hit the minimum amount.)

The set also changes regularly, so be sure to visit H&C’s website often or subscribe to their newsletter to stay updated on the latest offerings.

When I placed my order, I snagged the Turtley Awesome freebie set that was available at the time. So with my order, I received the three items above—completely free! Isn’t that amazing? And as per usual, I haven’t found anything to say against the quality of the items at H&C. Everything was great, the freebie like the rest!

Unfortunately, the items pictured above were made only for the freebie set and are no longer available, but if you like this cool turtle theme, definitely check out the Turtley Awesome collection!

In Conclusion

I LOVE HUBMAN & CHUBGIRL!! 😍

OK, they are a bit pricier than the stationery shops I usually buy from BUT the quality and cuteness of the items, plus the quick shipping, vast selection of products, and heartfelt care they put into everything they do, all made them top of the list in my (sticker) book!

What do you think of H&C? Comment below and let me know! 😊 And read part two of this post entirely dedicated to H&C’s Cozy Cat box set!

*All prices are in USD and accurate at the time of posting. (These are NOT the prices I paid during the warehouse sale.)
